BAE Scholarship Banquet

The OSU ASABE branch student body organizes a formal scholarship banquet each year to thank donors as well as to award students with scholarships.

Midwestern Regional Rally

This year the 2017 Midwestern Rally was hosted by Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. This was a great opportunity for OSU ASABE students to interact with faculty and to take a tour of the brand new biomechanical and machinery engineering laboratories. In addition, the students were allowed to tour Danfoss and John Deere. Christian Ley, Derek West, and Adam McKay represented Oklahoma State at rally.

Southeastern Regional Rally

This year the 2017 Southeastern Regional Rally was hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This provided a great opportunity for OSU ASABE students to interact with faculty and to take a tour of a local brewery. The students also interacted with other students via design competitions.

BAE Olympics

Each year the OSU ASABE branch hosts the BAE Olympics which is a fun event to get students and faculty involved. Teams compete in various minute-to-win-it games and trivia. The winners received gift cards to Fuzzy’s.

ASABE Sectional Meeting

The ASABE Oklahoma Sectional meeting was held at Oklahoma State University. At this meeting chapter president, Montana Wells, presented a poster about the OSU ASABE branch’s activities and accomplishments for the Fall 2016 semester and expected activities for Spring 2017. AGCO Industry Tour

This year ASABE branch toured AGCO in Heston, Kansas. Here they toured the manufacturing plant and ate lunch with a team of engineers, discussing the ag machinery market. This provided a networking opportunity for the biomechanical option students that attended. Jordan Cash, Dakota Burditt, Bo Davenport, and Caleb Curren attended along with the current branch advisor, Dr. Doug Hamilton.

BAE alumni Tailgate

The Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering department and OSU ASABE branch student body helped to plan and organize a tailgate for all BAE alumni after the Homecoming football game. It was a fun time to get reconnected and enjoy great food.

Homecoming “Walkaround”

Each year at Homecoming, campus organizations participate in Walkaround.  This was event filled with food, live music, vendors, and beautifully themed pomping decorations.  ASABE participated by selling pulled pork sandwiches and displaying the Cowboy Motorsports quarter scale tractors. This event was a big hit with over 400 sandwiches sold that evening.

Sangre Ridge Elementary School Clean Up Day

This year OSU ASABE branch students volunteered their time by moving benches and trimming tree branches around the walking trail.  This supports the outdoor classroom offered at the school.

CASNR Roundup

The College of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources hosts an event called CASNR Roundup where all clubs and professional societies within the college host informational booths for current freshman students. It gives freshmen the opportunity to browse and get connected with organizations and societies within their interests. This event provided OSU ASABE branch with the opportunity to connect with students who may not be in biosystems and agricultural engineering (BAE) students but may be interested in joining ASABE and the industries that ASABE coordinate with.

BAE Back to School Picnic

The BAE Department hosts an annual back to school picnic for students and faculty to have fun and socialize.  There was lots of food and a volleyball tourament.

AIM Summer 2016

The ASABE annual international meeting was held in Orlando, Florida for July 2016. This meeting provides a way for students and faculty to network with industries in the agriculture and biosystems fields with innovations in design and technology. This year the OSU students participated in the KK Barnes Student Essay Contest, International Preprofessional Community proceedings, as well as the annual Fountain Wars Contest. Christian Ley (2nd place winner in the KK Barnes Contest), Derek West, Alec Cannon, Caleb Jobe, Hana Dickens, Jasmine Roe, and Christian Colletti represented OSU at AIM.

Southeast Regional Rally

BAE Olympics

The BAE’s Alpha Epsilon hosts a fun event of competition and trivia.  Students and faculty form teams and compete in “minute to win it” games and a trivia round.  This is a fun social event for students and faculty.



Iron Monk Brewery Tour

The tour chosen for the spring semester was a tour at a local Stillwater brewery.  Iron Monk showed students the ins and outs of what it takes to run a brewery, focusing on many of the bio-processing components of beer making.

Midwest Regional Rally

Midwest Rally is an annual professional development conference with all the midwestern ASABE chapters.  This year the conference was held in Madison, WI where students toured Kuhn North America Inc., Minhas Brewery, and a local dairy.

Homecoming Window Painting

Celebrating campus spirit, ASABE painted a window for homecoming as part of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ annual homecoming tradition.  BAE’s Cowboy Motorsports, Cowboy Waterworks, and Alpha Epsilon also joined in the efforts.

Hunt For Hunger

The College of Agriculture’s Leadership League holds a can food drive competition annually.  ASABE members compete with other organizations in CASNR to collect the most non-perishable items by going door-to-door in a neighborhood.

Into the Streets Volunteer Event

In the Fall OSU’s Student Government Organization hosts a community service day for campus organizations.  ASABE members helped out a Stillwater resident by raking leaves and brush in the yard, cleaning windows, and removing dirt/ leaves from the eves

AGCO Industry Tour

The tour chosen for the fall semester was visiting the Heston, Kansas AGCO manufacturing plant.  Students got to see many of the manufacturing processes for hay tools as well as get an insight into industry.

Sangre Ridge Elementary School Clean Up Day

This year students volunteered at Sangre Ridge Elementary School to spread mulch around the school’s track.  Several of the students helped to built an entire storage shed on site.
